Aid to Africa
Aid to Africa is a chance to improve Africans’ life standards or to stop their suffering from starving, illnesses and etc. In spite of all these efforts, it is still an unresolved problem in Africa. This kind of help has kept people alive but totaly it does not give them enough rights, and dignity to survive as normal human beings. Even if it seems like the only way to eradicate hunger and poverty in Africa, there are lots of things to be done for the future of Africans more than aid to Africa. The wrong political implementations to raise Africans’ welfare have not deepened their problems. As it seems, there are a lot of health problems, shelter problems or so on. Every year 3 million babies are born dead. More die because of illnesses or starvation. Adults also die because of HIV/AIDS. It is result of lack of hospital or medical treatment. Moreover there are lots of people who can not go to school. What is the reason for Africa is still a poor continent although many other countries all over the world are developed? There can be lots of answer. For instance in the past, Africa was a colony of Western countries. Likewise, their geography is not as suitable as Middle East or the West. In spite of all these unlucky events, their population also has been growing. "Between 1975 and 2005, the population more than doubled, rising from 335 to 751 million, and is currently growing at a rate of 2.2% a year". Africa is a huge continent so it is impossible to reach all of the people who live under standards of human rights. Thus, as the director of the Royal African Society says that aid to Africa does not solve all the problems. On the contrary, Niger’s president said that “aid agencies of exaggerating his country's food crisis for their own gain, Western media reacted with shock”. It is obvious that Afraica does not participate in the world economy. Beside it, Africans live under the world standards. In conclusion, as we can see aid is not the basic sufficient factor to reach Africans wellfare. Until a permanent way is found to eradicate hunger and poverty, aid should continue. Otherwise, it will go worse every other day instead of peace in Africa which is one of the main goals.
