Feedback: Is Poverty Necessary?

Dear Students,

I have now completed my feedback comments on your blog posts.

There was a huge variety of answers, many of them very interesting. Most of you showed at least some awareness of academic paragraph structure and an attempt at critical thinking.

I believe the main weaknesses resulted from the following:

1. Not referring carefully to the assignment instructions! This is quite easy to remedy...
2. Not considering the point of view of an outside reader - writing must always be explicit in order not to make the reader guess what you are trying to say. Assume nothing!
3. Weaknesses in logic, overgeneralizations that you cannot prove, and oversimplification.

I have left fairly direct feedback. Do not take it personally; let it help you. Feel free to comment further on your blog - I will respond to your comments. Make sure you completely understand your strengths and weaknesses so that you can achieve a good result on the WebQuest blog.

It would also be a good idea to read the feedback I and other students have left on the other blogs so that you can get a good idea of what I am looking for in a blog post.
